 Council Payments
There are a number of ways you can pay accounts owing to the Napier City Council. Please contact the Finance Department by email
if you have any queries.

Direct Debit
You can pay your water by meter, rent or rates bill by Direct Debit.
- Water by Meter options are quarterly by instalment.
- Rent options are fortnightly on Tuesday for pensioner flats.
- Rates Options are weekly, fortnightly, monthly on the 20th of each month or by instalment on the due date.

A convenience fee of 2.1% per transaction will apply (or minimum of $3.50 per transaction)
Instructions:
- Please enter all numbers, including zeros, from the valuation number in your rates notice
- You will find step by step instructions as you go through the payment process
- When using the service we recommend that you use the navigation buttons provided within the screens. Use of
the 'enter' key in some screens may have unexpected results.
At the end you will be given a reference number. Receipts for online payments are not available, however you
can either print the screen or note down the details for future reference. Phone us on (06) 835 7579 or email us if
