Environmental Health
Environmental Health provides for and promotes public health and safety through:
- Environment Protection including contaminated land, litter enforcement,
vermin, insect pests, fire hazards, fire permits, nuisances and the
registration of swimming pool fencing.
- A 24 hour on call noise control service. For complaints about noise nuisances
ring the Council phone number at any time.
- Assistance on the establishment, approval, licensing and inspection of food,
hairdressing and Liquor premises. People looking to get
into these businesses should contact the Environmental Health Staff as early
as possible as licence applications can take time to process.
- Sampling and monitoring of Napier's reticulated drinking water supply, trade wastes and noise and has a laboratory for
simple analysis work.
