The next stage for the Cycleway has started with the excavation for footpath/cycleway at the Iron Pot.
The route is from the intersection of Bridge Street/Nelson Quay to opposite the Old Custom House on Custom Quay.
The total cost is $60,546.69 and the length of this stage is approx. 136m.
The width varies from 3.5m - 4.5m.
The Cycleway will be constructed in concrete and there will be a safety fence built on the seaward side. Contract time will be two weeks with the top soil and grassing to follow.
The existing footpath will be closed for a week while the contractor is excavating the old path and constructing a small retaining wall and the cycleway along the new alignment.
