Ypres Street Reconstruction
Planning Started: 2009
Construction Started: Work started mid-March 2010
Completed: June 2010
Apart from soft landscaping, the upgrade of Ypres Street has been completed.
The $197,000 project is one of the last to be done as part of the Taradale roads upgrade programme, which the Council undertook to do when the borough amalgamated into the city.
The rebuilt road is now seven metres wide and its design is similar to that in Travis Street, reconstructed in 2009.
Ypres Street's berms will be rotary hoed, levelled and seeded in spring to ensure a good strike of grass.
