Warren Street / Marine Parade Roundabout
Planning: January 2015
Construction expected to commence: August 2015
Construction completed: November 2015
A roundabout at the Marine Parade / Warren Street intersection in Napier South is being constructed to improve safety and beautify the entrance to Napier.
The current configuration of the intersection is confusing for motorists and poor visibility compromised safety.
Fencing has been erected around 10 Norfolk pines in the immediate work site to prevent accidental damage, and a 30km/h speed restriction has been put in place while the work is being undertaken.
The new roundabout will also feature improved landscaping, with gardens as a centrepiece and pathways will allow pedestrians to cross the area safely.
Construction is expected to be completed in November.
