Orutu-Prebensen Drive Roundabout

Construction is under way on the Orutu-Prebensen drive roundabout. Planning started: February 2015
Construction commenced: August 2015
Construction completed: January 2016

With Parklands Estate subdivision in its final stages of completion, and Prebensen Drive expanded to four lanes, it was necessary and timely to connect Orutu Drive to Prebensen Drive with a roundabout.

The roundabout has three exits, with provisions for a fourth to accommodate further developments on Lagoon Farm land north of Prebensen Drive.

The design provides a safe and effective crossing facility for the existing off-road pathway. It also considers any walking and cycling connections to the subdivision and surrounding sportsground facilities.

The cost of the project was $2.1 million.
