Norsewood to Takapau Fun Challenge
The Norsewood and Takapau Lions club are pleased to announce that the 12th annual Norsewood to Takapau Fun Challenge this July.
Enjoy a fun, family and friends event along scenic country roads. Starting from the historic Norsewood Village, take the back roads to Takapau on an undulating course, encompassing beautiful dairy country and passing the Southern Star Abbey - with the snow capped Ruahine Ranges in the background. Experience the relaxed atmosphere, breathe in the freshest air and be part of a great fundraising event, with all profits from the day going towards local community causes.
It’s all about participation and giving it a go. You do not need to be an expert to take part as you can choose to participate in the challenge as either an individual or part of a team as well as choosing if you would prefer to Run - Walk - Relay 21kms or 10kms (event shuttle vans will transport these participants from the registration area to the half way mark to commence their section at 10:30 am from where they will make their way to the finish line at Takapau School), or Cycle 20km, 30km, or 40kms.
Free shuttle buses will be provided either way between the start & finish points before and after the event. Please note on your entry form if you require transport to ensure we have sufficient vehicles on standby.
First shuttle leaves from outside Takapau Primary School at 7:15 am. Post event shuttles leave directly following the prizegiving at approx. 1pm. Entry fees have yet to be confirmed for 2017 but as this is a community run Fundraising event cost are always kept at an absolute minimum (around $15 per adult, $5 per child).
