F.A.W.C! R.E.A.L! Food

F.A.W.C! R.E.A.L! Food

R.E.A.L. food at Mangarara (a.k.a. 'The Family Farm') means Regenerative, Ethical, Abundant and Local. During the course of this special event, owners Greg and Rachel Hart will share their passion for R.E.A.L. food and farming - how we can all make the world a better place by eating well! Start with a farm tour to explore pig, poultry, sheep, beef cattle and dairy enterprises, plus tree planting initiatives, learning about regenerative agriculture as you go. Return to Mangarara Eco Lodge for a heart warming drink around the outdoor fire pit before dinner (or the roaring inside fire if you’d prefer), where you will taste the fruits of their philosophy for yourself. Hawke’s Bay’s very own My Kitchen Rules duo Henry & Monique Heke will be preparing a delicious dinner featuring Mangarara lamb racks, while Lime Rock Wines vit-ecologist Rodger Tynan will share his wine and ecology knowledge. Beer will be supplied by local boutique brewery Brave. As with all Mangarara practices, all profits from this event will be used to plant trees and to sponsor families in need a free stay at the Mangarara Eco Lodge.

Ticket price includes - tea and coffee on arrival, farm tour and explanation of Regenerative Agriculture, canapés, lamb dinner, dessert and Lime Rock wine, Brave beer and Whisky (not local!)

If you wish to stay the night, book a room at the Lodge direct with Mangarara Farm for $50 per person, limited space available.

Arrive at 3 pm for a Farm Tour (leaving the lodge at 3.30pm, suitable walking shoes and warm jacket required). For those who wish to join for dinner without the farm tour, a 5 pm arrival is recommended. Mangarara is half an hour drive from Havelock North down Middle Road. If there is sufficient interest, a bus will be organised from Havelock North.
