The temporary Urban Oasis in Market Street is a contemporary space with bean bags, market umbrellas, turf and free Wi-Fi. It is part of project ‘City Vision: small city, BIG ideas’, which looks at how Napier’s central city and Ahuriri work, what makes it hum, how people experience it.
We’ve introduced this experimental space to test how we can keep people in the CBD longer. It’s likely that over time Urban Oasis will change and adapt as we learn more about what people want and also to seasonal conditions.
We want to know what the needs and wants of Napier’s locals and visitors are. Tell us what you think of the space and share your ideas about how to make City Vision a reality.
