Napier Library closed for a month for refurbishment
Taradale Library will be open late on Wednesday nights while Napier Library is closed over the next month, from this Friday, 16 October, for refurbishment.
Napier Library will re-open on Monday 16 November following a full re-paint of the ground and first floor levels, and the installation of new carpet made from recycled fishing nets.
While customers will still be able to return items at Napier, Taradale Library will be the service point over the next month, and will be open until 7.30pm on Wednesday nights.
Napier Library’s Friday storytime will start again on Friday 20 November. In the meantime, parents may want to take their little ones along to Taradale Library storytime, held at 10.30am every Tuesday.
The chess and checker sets will still be available every day on the Napier Library forecourt.
Library patrons are also encouraged to use the public goBay bus service (routes 12 and 13) that runs from Dalton Street by Napier Library, to Taradale. Both Routes 12 and 13 stop near the Taradale Clock Tower; Route 13 also stops near Taradale Shops on Puketapu Road and outside Taradale Primary school in Church Road. There is a walkway through the park from near there to the Library.
Bus services are also free between 9am and 3pm weekdays, and anytime during weekends or public holidays for SuperGold cardholders.
For timetable information see the Hawke's Bay Regional Council website, speak to any goBay bus driver, or pick up a bus timetable booklet from Hawke’s Bay Regional or Napier City Councils.
