Total Fire Ban for Napier

The hot, dry weather experienced throughout Hawke’s Bay means a total fire ban has been declared for the entire region.

A prohibited fire season, or total fire ban, has been declared by Napier City Council, Hastings, Wairoa and Central Hawke’s Bay District Councils, and the Department of Conservation areas within these districts. It will remain in force until further notice.

The ban means no fires are allowed in the open, including incinerators, traditional cooking fires such as hangi, solid fuel barbecues, braziers, pizza ovens, camp fires and fireworks.
