14-June Road Access Closure
Napier City Council will permanently close road access to and from Wharerangi Cemetery at Fryer Road on Wednesday 14 June 2017. The Council is closing the access to help improve safety on the roads within the Cemetery by removing “through” trips between Fryer Road and Cato Road. Visitors will still be able access the road for Wharerangi Cemetery from Cato Road off Prebensen Drive.

8-July Road Closure - Hawke's Bay Winter F..A.W.C!
Pursuant to the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974, Section 342, notice is hereby given that the Napier City Council will close Riddell Street between Hyderabad Road (SH50) and Domett Street on Saturday, 8 July 2017 from 6.00am to 6.00pm. The closure is for the Winter F.A.W.C! event “Toasted!”

Agrichemical Spray Programme
Notice is hereby given that the Services Department of the Napier City Council will be commencing a selective Agrichemicals Spray Programme for a duration of 6 months from 16 May 2017 to 17 November 2017. This is for the control of broadleaf weeds on the sportsgrounds and reserves areas. In accordance with Growsafe Agrichemical user code NZS 8409-2004 signage “SPRAYING IN PROGRESS” will be visible in the areas being sprayed.

Rates due 24 May 2017
Reminder that the 4th instalment for rates payments are due on or before 24 May 2017. Rates assessment/invoice notices are required by our cashiers to enable payments to be processed. To avoid delay, please bring your assessment/invoice with you. In accordance with Section 57 of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002, additional charges will be added to rates remaining unpaid after 5.00 pm on Wednesday 24 May 2017.

Napier takes precautionary approach to positive water test
Napier City Council has this afternoon chlorinated the water in one of its reservoirs after routine testing returned a positive test for e-coli. The reservoir is the Enfield Rd reservoir and it services much of Napier including Taradale and Bay View during peak season. All other reservoirs tested on the same day returned clear results.
